Needs:
Coloured Card - laminated ones mean you can play this game again and again
A pen - use a dry wipe pen if using laminated card
How to play: Ask the child playing to select one of the coloured cards. The aim is to sit down with the child or children playing and discuss emotions, using colour as a reference. Which emotion the colour represents can vary but as a general guide:
Yellow = happy
Green = calm
Red = angry
Pink = loved
Orange = surprised
Purple = excited
If they picked the yellow card, you can then ask them to show you their best happy face. It can also be useful to draw a happy face on the card using the dry wipe pen. Then ask them to tell you what makes them feel happy. Write the answers on the card for little ones, or older ones can have a go at writing it out themselves. Repeat with more colours if you wish, or save them for another time.
